60CSx died...

I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this, and how they found the Garmin (Europe/UK) repair service.

Last night I went to programme my 60CSx for this weekend's walking trip, and it wouldn't turn on. Not a thing, dead as a dodo... New batteries, the works.

If I connected it to my PC via a USB hub as usual, nothing. If I connected it with a direct USB connection, then it powered on, but ...

Windscreen Mount - Nuvi 300

There is a disc that I presume fits to the windscreen that has a red circle on one side and black plastic on the other.

There is no mention in the manual how to use it/if this is needed at all?

Which way round does it go as the mounting arm will secure itself to either side (by a magnet possibly?)

Could I not use it and just attach the mounting arm direct to the ...

Garmin screen defect

I have a Garmin StreePilot 2610 bought in July 04. I use it on car and motorcycle. Over the past few months the top layer of the screen has been progressively delaminating / bubbling up. Soon the unit will be unuseable.

I've emailed Garmin but have not yet received a response. Does anyone else have experience of this defect on Garmin products?

Thanks.

Clive

60Csx Accuracy...

I got my 60CSx and just learning to use it really. I have dowloaded v2.71 and everything appears to be working. On my balcony, I am getting strong signals from 7 or 8 satellites. I have WAAS enabled but none of the signals are showing a D and my accuracy is only about +/- 20 feet. Does this sound right? Thanks!

Garmin 60CSX & 1.0 GB card

New unit and the 64 mb card is too small to store maps for an approaching trip. Topo data appeared as expected from MapSource Topo on the 64mb card. I guess I got greedy and purchased a 1 GB SanDisk card. I probably only used about a third of the card's memory. Topo data is no longer visible, even after downloading the map sets twice.

Is 1 GB too large? How large of a memory ...

Dialing POI with Garmin Nuvi 360

I just purchased the Garmin 360 the other day. Honestly I was a bit disappointed because I had the Mio 310x and it has some neat features. You can customize the map features a lot more than you can the 360. I like how it shows multiple street names while I'm driving and also displays the actual name and not CR-11. Anyway, the nuvi is pretty cool. It's accurate, has a lot of features, and ...

Garmin Training Center and mapping software

I recently bought a Garmin Edge 205. After my first ride, I downloaded the info from the Edge to my Training Center program. It showed my track, but no street references. The Help page said something about unlocking MapSource. I called Garmin to find out how to do this, I was informed that I would have to buy the MapSource for about $130. I called back to find out if Traing Center is compatible with ...

GPS Watch question... use in the jungle

Hello,

I already own a Garmin GPS 76 and a GPSMAP 76CSx

I am considering the Foretrex 201 and the Forerunner 205

I realize that the forerunner is for atheletes and is NOT a hikers GPS, but it really does have 2 advantages over the Foretrex.

1. SiRF StarIII chip

2. Much more compact on the wrist

I downloaded the manual for the Forerunner 205 and noted that it CAN record Waypoints and Routes..... and ...
